Welcome to the Beccles Free School website!
Message from the Headteacher
Thank you for taking time to visit our website and for the interest in Beccles Free School. Our school is one in which we seek to create an environment in which students are able to thrive and demonstrate clearly the ‘6Cs to Success’ (Co-operation, Commitment, Confidence, Community, Challenge and Celebration). It is our belief that students deserve a vibrant and positive learning environment in which they can feel safe, enjoy their education and make excellent progress. If you are interested in your child attending our school please contact the school to make an appointment to look around and to experience this ethos and speak with students and adults at our school.
On Sunday 10November, Mr Crowfoot had the privilege of attending the Beccles Remembrance Service and laying a wreath on behalf of the school in memory of service personnel past and present. On Monday 11 November, members of the school community stopped work and observed silence for 2 minutes and then listened to students reading poems. The conduct of our students was exemplary.
We welcome the following staff to the school this half of term:
Mrs Michelle Tibble Receptionist (from 25 November 2013)
Mr Mark Cassidy Higher Level Teaching Assistant (from 04 November 2013)
Student Leadership Group
We would like to congratulate Alex Johnson (Head Boy), Emelia Cole (Head Girl), Alex Rhodes (Deputy Head Boy) and Lauren Peck (Deputy Head Girl) on their appointments to the Student Leadership Group. Charlotte Le Grice will serve as an advisor to this group, using her experience of the excellent job that she has done this year. These students will be at the forefront of student leadership and learning in our school and they will be role models for their fellow students throughout their term of office. We believe that the leadership skills that our students develop are very important in preparing them for life beyond school and we encourage students of all ages to be active in their contributions to school life.
As the school continues to go from strength to strength, we look forward to welcoming new students to Beccles Free School. We hope that any parent / carer considering applying for their son / daughter to come to Beccles Free School will take a look at how to apply for a place by visiting our ‘Applying for a Place’ page.
