Welcome to the Beccles Free School website!
Message from the Headteacher
We are beginning our second Spring Term at Beccles Free School. It is a term in which our community will continue to work hard to make sure that our students learning in a positive environment that enables each of them to make excellent progress, enjoy their learning and achieve their personal best. In providing a 'Foundation For Life' we expect our students to work hard, take a lead role in managing their learning and to come together as a community in which we can celebrate the successes of all members of our school.
In term one of this year students received two Progress Check Point reports and year 9 received their written reports. As well as visits to the University of Cambridge, the University of East Anglia and to Norwich, students also experienced an excellent team -building day from the Army Outreach Team. Students also performed at the local hospital and residential home as well as decorating a tree as part of the local church festival and held two showcases for friends and families and took part in sporting football, netball and cross -country. We have also held a lovely parent and child reading event that was attended by many parents, grandparents and carers along with their children. We have been nominated for a local Eco Award and we await the announcement to see if we have been successful.
All of these events had the aim of developing at least one of our 6 Cs to Success. As our community has grown in size it has become even more important that we these 6Cs to Success underpin each aspect of our work.
We are proud of our students and staff and are striving to ensure that all students feel valued, their achievements are recognised and that they develop into the wonderful young adults that they are capable of being. We have high expectations of appearance and behaviour and encourage our students to be role models both in and out of school. In this way they help to generate the atmosphere in which they can maximise their potential and achieve the levels of progress that we would all like to see.
We are very grateful for the support that parents, carers, families and the local community have provided in helping us to provide an enriching and challenging curriculum.
If any prospective parent / carer would like to visit our school then please do not hesitate to contact the school on 01502 526640 or via the email address email@example.com.
This term we will be adding events to our website as they are confirmed.
Thank you to all our parents / carers for their continued support of the school.
