Bereavement and Loss

Students experiencing a family bereavement or loss of someone close to them (or their parent, on the student’s behalf) can talk to their Form Tutor or any member of staff if they feel they need support. Where appropriate, teachers of the student are informed of the bereavement so they are aware that the student may be behaving differently than usual (e.g. emotional, angry or distracted). Some students are issued with temporary exit cards to offer them time out if they are finding it difficult to cope with their emotions. They can then seek support from staff in the Pastoral team.
